Tottenham Hotspur has officially signed Alejo Veliz from Rosario Central.

The North London club has been active in the transfer market, securing new signings under the management of Ange Postecoglou.

Veliz, a forward from Rosario Central, has joined Tottenham Hotspur. While the exact transfer fee has not been disclosed, it’s widely reported to be around £13 million. The 19-year-old Argentine has signed a contract with the club until 2029 and will wear the number 36 shirt.

Veliz is highly regarded in Argentina and has showcased his talent by scoring 19 goals in 62 games for Rosario Central. He particularly stood out during the current season, netting 11 goals in 23 appearances. He also represented Argentina’s Under-20 side at the recent World Cup, contributing three goals in four matches before the team was eliminated in the round of 16 by Nigeria.

At Tottenham Hotspur, Veliz will be part of the competition for a place in the attacking lineup, including contending with players like Harry Kane, Son Heung-min, and Richarlison. With Kane’s future uncertain amid Bayern Munich’s interest, Veliz’s arrival adds depth to the striking options. It’s expected that he might initially feature as a substitute and also get opportunities with the Under-21 setup.

Veliz is not anticipated to be included in the squad for Tottenham’s friendly match against Barcelona, taking place at Camp Nou. The young forward’s signing adds to Tottenham’s efforts to bolster their squad ahead of the new season, as they aim to make a strong impression under the management of Ange Postecoglou.
