Tottenham news Latest: Eric Dier is set to miss Spurs’ last game of the season following a groin surgery
Eric Dier from Tottenham Hotspur has had an operation on his groin and will not be able to participate in their last Premier League match against Leeds United on Sunday.
The player has taken part in 42 games across all competitions this season for Tottenham, who are currently in eighth place in the league with 57 points, which is 12 points behind the top four.
“The defender will commence rehabilitation with our medical staff before joining up with the squad ahead of the start of pre-season,” Tottenham said in a statement on Wednesday.
It is uncertain who will be in charge of Dier and the rest of the Tottenham team for the upcoming season as the top candidate, Arne Slot, has chosen to stay at Feyenoord.
This decision was likely influenced by the fact that Tottenham may only be playing in the Conference League or may not qualify for any European competitions at all. Currently, they are in eighth place, trailing behind Aston Villa by one point with one game left to play.
