Tottenham News latest: Spurs is ready to include Harry Kane in any decision to hire a new coach in order to persuade him to sign a new deal
Tottenham talisman, Harry Kane, has made a suggestion that he might meet with chairman Daniel Levy in the upcoming weeks over the chairman’s plans for the next Spurs manager. It comes as the final year of the England captain’s contract with Spurs approaches, casting doubt once more on his future.
This conversation may be crucial in persuading the 29-year-old Englishman to stay at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium given that he is in the final year of his contract with the team. Levy will have to appoint the right manager to convince Kane to stay at Spurs due to interest from clubs like Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United as well as emerging interest from Chelsea.
“If I end up speaking with the chairman towards the end of the season, then I’m sure he’ll fill me in on what he’s thinking,” suggesting that he could be set for talks with Chairman Levy at some point.
“But ultimately we’ve got three more games, we don’t want to look too far ahead and get too carried away. The club will make the best decision for everyone, for the players, the fans, for the club in general, so we’ll just have to wait and see what that is.”
Contract discussions with Kane have been put on hold as of now. Once a new permanent manager is selected, those negotiations will continue. Although Spurs have already spoken to Luis Enrique and Julian Nagelsmann about the position, they are also still considering a number of other candidates, such as Xabi Alonso and Ruben Amorim. But no decision has yet been reached.
According to reports, Spurs are prepared to involve Kane in important choices like selecting the new head coach in an effort to persuade him to devote his career to the team. In fact, the leadership is communicating with the larger team to get an understanding of how they feel about the job. But by specifically engaging Kane, it is believed that he will be delighted with the decision and hopefully agree to a new contract.
