Osimhen, a Nigerian international with a contract that runs through 2025, has scored 18 goals in just 19 league games for Napoli this season, and several of Europe’s top teams have expressed interest in acquiring him after the season.
Osimhen is reportedly the top striker target for Chelsea in 2023, according to 90min, and Manchester United is also rumoured to be a fan.
When asked about the attention he was receiving, Osimhen told ESPN: “When you are doing so well, top clubs around the world are watching, mostly in the top five leagues.
“And to be able to attract interest from these top clubs shows that I am doing great and it gives me the motivation to do even more for myself and my team.
“But I am focused on Napoli right now and they have the final say. I just want to help my team to win matches and win trophies. At the end of the season, we will see what is going to happen, but that is not up to me. It is for the club to decide.”
Osimhen is widely regarded as one of the best young strikers in the game, and 90min has reported that Napoli are willing to demand close to €150 million (£132 million) to get rid of him. Chelsea are not thought to be deterred by that fee, despite their massive spending of more than £600 million already under Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital.
