Why Marcus Thuram is perfect for Inter

In the World Cup final, there was a surprising discovery, Marcus Thuram, a highly anticipated new player, which can be an excellent addition to Inter Milan’s 3-5-2 formation under Simone Inzaghi. He has the potential to be the perfect substitute for Edin Dzeko

The leading goal scorer of the previous World Cup was impressed by the impact of his fellow countryman coming off the bench in the final. Thuram provided an assist that allowed the talented French player to equalize against Argentina. This assist made Mbappe consider the possibility of a future partnership with Thuram.

However, the transfer market had different plans, partly due to PSG’s refusal to meet Thuram’s contract demands. As a result, it appears that Thuram’s son will be joining an Italian team, Inter, who managed to sign him ahead of their rivals, AC Milan.

Thuram, standing at 192cm and weighing 90 kg, is a powerful force for the Nerazzurri. He is a great option to replace Romelu Lukaku, whether Lukaku stays or not, and is an excellent partner for the exceptional Lautaro Martinez.

Over the years, Thuram has consistently improved every aspect of his game, including his ability to work well with his teammates. In the World Cup final, he played as the central forward in a front three, taking the place of Olivier Giroud, whom he will face in upcoming derbies. However, Thuram’s size and skill in playing with his back to the goal also make him well-suited for a two-striker formation.

While he has frequently played as a lone striker for both Borussia Monchengladbach and France, his diverse skill set enables him to complement dynamic forwards such as Mbappe or Lautaro. His strength will naturally make him the main target in the offensive line, but he is also adaptable and can make runs behind the defense or drop back when needed.

While he may not have the statistics of a prolific goal scorer, the striker managed to score 13 goals in 30 games in the Bundesliga last year. What sets him apart is his versatility as a striker, allowing his teammates to shine.

In other words, Thuram shouldn’t be expected to match Lukaku’s goal tally in the 2020/21 season, but rather have a similar impact to Dzeko. Despite only scoring nine league goals last season, the Bosnian player was still instrumental to his team’s success.

Thuram’s adaptability and willingness to put the team first make him a valuable asset for Inzaghi. He has been selected to replace Dzeko and his versatility could be an added advantage. Thuram not only possesses superior technique and elegance but also has the ability to support his teammates.

It seems like a perfect signing for Inter, especially since Thuram is expected to join on a free transfer.
