Yaya Toure named assistant manager at Standard Liege
The club announced that Yaya Toure, a former midfielder for Manchester City, has been appointed as the assistant manager at Standard Liege, a team in the Belgian Pro League.
Toure, who accumulated over 100 appearances for the Ivory Coast national team, has been announced as the last member to join coach Carl Hoefkens’ team, following his appointment on Friday.
He used to be a player for Monaco and Barcelona, among other teams. In 2021, he briefly worked as an assistant coach for Olimpik Donetsk in the Ukrainian First League and Akhmat Grozny in the Russian Premier League.

In the 2022-23 regular season, Standard Liege finished in sixth place.
