Zinchenko claims Partey is better than Rodri and Casemiro

Arsenal’s full-back Oleksandr Zinchenko has hailed Thomas Partey as the premier defensive midfielder he’s ever played alongside, surpassing even the likes of Casemiro and Rodri.

  • Partey, Rodri and Casemiro are amongst the top defensive midfielders in the Premier League.
  • Zinchenko praised Partey ahead of the two in Ferdinand’s channel.
  • However, he acknowledged the prowess of Rodri and Casemiro.

Partey’s pivotal role in Arsenal’s performance since his arrival in 2020 has garnered admiration from his teammates.

Zinchenko’s praises for Partey were effusive, positioning him above renowned midfield stalwarts Casemiro and Rodri. He shared his internal debate about choosing the best holding midfielder he’s shared the pitch with, ultimately selecting Partey as his preferred choice.

Speaking on Rio Ferdinand’s FIVE YouTube channel, Zinchenko highlighted his admiration for Partey’s abilities: “Rio, please come and see him in training. He has everything.” While acknowledging Casemiro’s world-class stature with five Champions League victories, Zinchenko’s preference leaned towards Partey’s versatility.

Interestingly, this season has seen Partey take on an unorthodox role as a right-back for Arsenal in certain games. Under Mikel Arteta’s guidance, he contributed to the team’s victories against Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace and their draw with Fulham.

Partey’s mettle will be further tested as he faces off against Casemiro when Arsenal locks horns with Manchester United in their upcoming clash.
