Bundesliga Roundup, Matchday 6
Matchday 6 of the 2025/26 Bundesliga season showcased thrilling matches and remarkable displays. Here’s the Bundesliga roundup from this round.
Hoffenheim 0-1 FC Cologne
Cologne solidified their strong start to the season by securing a 1-0 away win against TSG Hoffenheim, which was only their second victory in their last 14 league matches played on the road. Wins have been uncommon for Cologne in this head-to-head matchup, as this triumph was just their second in the past 15 encounters between the two teams.
Werder Bremen 1-0 St Pauli
Werder Bremen ended a streak of four home games without a victory by defeating St. Pauli 1-0 in the Bundesliga at the Weserstadion. This win extended Werder’s unbeaten run against the Hamburg-based team to eight matches.
Dortmund 1-1 RB Leipzig
Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig played a 1-1 draw in an exciting Bundesliga match, extending Dortmund’s unbeaten streak to nine games in all competitions (6 wins, 3 draws). A draw was a decent result for both teams. Dortmund remain unbeaten in 14 league matches, with 11 wins and 3 draws dating back to last season. Although Leipzig’s four-game winning streak in the league came to an end, the draw keeps them in third place, just one point behind Dortmund.

Leverkusen 2-0 Union Berlin
Bayer Leverkusen climbed to 5th place in the Bundesliga following a solid 2-0 win against Union Berlin, improving their strong head-to-head record to just one loss in 16 encounters (10 wins, 5 draws). The outcome was never uncertain, as the home team comfortably controlled the final moments to continue their unbeaten streak to seven games in all competitions (3 wins, 4 draws).

Augsburg 3-1 Wolfsburg
Augsburg ended their four-match losing streak by defeating Wolfsburg 3-1 at the WWK Arena, leaving Wolfsburg winless since the season opener (2 draws, 3 losses). Augsburg managed to hold on and claim their first win since the first day of the season. Meanwhile, Wolfsburg continue to drop down the standings and are currently in 15th place.
Frankfurt 0-3 Bayern Munich
Bayern Munich maintained their perfect start to the new Bundesliga season by achieving a sixth consecutive victory with a 3-0 win at Deutsche Bank Park, becoming the first team to keep a clean sheet against Eintracht Frankfurt this season. Bayern lead the Bundesliga table with six wins from six games, but their toughest challenge awaits after the international break when they take on Borussia Dortmund in Der Klassiker.

Stuttgart 1-0 Heidenheim
Stuttgart secured their third straight Bundesliga win with a 1-0 home triumph against Heidenheim, who continue to occupy a spot in the bottom two after managing to avoid defeat in only one of their six league games this season. With their fourth consecutive home league victory without conceding a goal, Stuttgart has climbed into the top four.

Hamburger SV 4-0 Mainz
Hamburger SV climbed into the upper half of the Bundesliga standings after a commanding 4-0 victory over FSV Mainz 05 in the Hansestadt, marking their biggest top-flight win since October 2013. This is a very positive outcome for Die Rothosen, who appear solid defensively with their third clean sheet of the season, and also seem to have found their scoring touch. Perhaps the challenges of their first European campaign since 2016/17 will be too much for Mainz, and Bo Henriksen will need to address their poor form, having won only two of their last 15 Bundesliga games.
Monchengladbach 0-0 Freiburg
Borussia Mönchengladbach extended their Bundesliga winless streak to a new club record of 13 games after being held to a 0-0 draw by Freiburg. The draw was enough to move Gladbach off the bottom of the table, and keeping a clean sheet was a positive, especially after they had conceded 10 goals in their previous two Bundesliga home games. Meanwhile, Freiburg remain close to the European qualification spots, having extended their unbeaten run to six matches across all competitions.
