2022 FIFA Club World Cup Date Revealed

FIFA has finally notified Real Madrid that the postponed 2022 FIFA Club World Cup will occur early next year, in February 2023.

It usually occurs in December and pits the champions of each continental confederation’s Champions League tournament against one another.

This time, however, it was not possible because the major World Cup for national teams was held in November and December as opposed to the summer.

The FIFA Club World Cup was consequently shifted to the beginning of 2023, and Real Madrid has now been told of the precise dates.

According to AS, it will take place from February 1 to February 11 and it is slated to be hosted in Morocco despite attempts from Qatar and Abu Dhabi to host it. It would not be the first time Morocco will be hosting it. Games have previously been held in Abu Dhabi in 2009, 2010, 2017, 2018, and 2021.

Given that the first leg of Real Madrid’s Champions League round of 16 match against Liverpool takes place on February 21, the timing of the FIFA Club World Cup is probably not to their liking.

By winning the 2022 Copa Libertadores, Flamengo earned the right to represent South America at the Club World Cup. Wydad of Morocco will represent Africa, Seattle Sounders will represent North America, and Auckland City will represent Oceania.

Asia’s 2022 Winners League champion has not yet been determined, and the domestic champions of the tournament’s unconfirmed host country are also eligible.
