Angel Di Maria injury update

Angel Di Maria made his debut for Juventus in the Serie A during their clash against Sassuolo last weekend. All was going well for the Argentine as he bagged a goal and an assist to his name, however,  Angel Di Maria pulled up and started to display symptoms of some sort of groin injury.

Following a trip to J Medical in Turin, Juventus revealed on Tuesday that Di Maria will be sidelined for at least the next 10 days due to the groin injury that forced him to leave the game against Sassuolo.

That means Di Maria is definitely out of the trip to Sampdoria on Monday, and if things don’t go well after the initial 10-day schedule Juve has provided, it’s possible that his status for Juve’s early-season matchup with Roma is in question.

The update, as shown on Juventus’ official website:

Angel Di Maria underwent radiological examinations this morning at J | Medical which revealed a low-grade lesion of the adductor longus muscle of the left thigh. The extent of the injury will re-evaluated in 10 days.

Max Allegri stated during the post-game news conference that he was not very concerned about Di Maria’s injury. Allegri shared that Di Maria had experienced a similar problem in training around a week prior. Allegri said that he might have pulled Di Maria off sooner, but seeing the Argentine winger relish his time on the field affected his choice to do so even though Juve had the numerical advantage.
