Arsenal vs Tottenham Review
Eberechi Eze netted a hat-trick as Arsenal dominated Tottenham, handing them a 4-1 defeat in the Premier League and extending the Gunners’ longest winning streak in North London derbies this century to four games. Just three minutes into the match, Eze created the first significant chance with a skillful flicked pass to Declan Rice, whose volley was well struck but saved by Guglielmo Vicario before the ball deflected off Kevin Danso and went out.

Arsenal’s strong start continued with Cristian Romero blocking a shot from Mikel Merino, while Bukayo Saka troubled Destiny Udogie but missed a free-kick, sending it over the crossbar after being fouled by the wing-back. The Emirates crowd grew increasingly frustrated with Spurs as the visitors tried to slow the game down, especially as the Gunners continued searching for a goal, with Jurriën Timber’s effort lacking conviction and Saka’s free-kick being saved. The Gunners finally scored in the 36th minute when Merino delivered an excellent pass to Leandro Trossard, who controlled the ball and struck a shot on the turn that was deflected by Micky van de Ven past Vicario.

After breaking the deadlock, it took only five minutes for Mikel Arteta’s team to score again, as Eze created space inside Spurs’ box and fired a shot that deflected off Van de Ven before slipping past Vicario’s outstretched hand. Not done yet, Eze received a pass from Timber and expertly placed the ball into the bottom corner just 40 seconds after the second half began. Spurs did manage to spark some hope when João Palhinha dispossessed Martín Zubimendi and Richarlison scored a stunning long-range strike, their first shot of the match.

The visitors’ frustration continued as Romero was booked for dissent, ruling him out of the upcoming Fulham game. Eze then completed a dream hat-trick by receiving a pass from Trossard, skillfully taking down Udogie, and calmly finishing. With this win, Arsenal extended their unbeaten streak to 15 matches across all competitions, moving six points clear at the top of the Premier League table. Meanwhile, Spurs have only won one of their last five league games, losing three, which currently places them in ninth position.
