Barcelona vs Osasuna Review
Barcelona have temporarily extended their lead at the top of La Liga to seven points after a 2-0 win against CA Osasuna. This victory ended Osasuna’s two-game winning streak and prevented them from achieving three consecutive wins for the first time since April. Early on, Osasuna created the better chances, but Ante Budimir’s shots were saved by Joan García from close range. He repeated this shortly after, while Pedri, Lamine Yamal, and Eric García tested Osasuna’s goalkeeper Sergio Herrera with long-range shots. Ferran seemed to have put Barcelona ahead with a well-executed header, but a VAR review controversially disallowed the goal due to an offside call near the corner flag.

The Catalans faced more frustration just before halftime when Ferran’s overhead kick narrowly missed the post. However, they came even closer shortly after the break, as Herrera fully stretched to save Rashford’s accurate free-kick early in the second half. Despite Barcelona’s frustrations, the pressure remained intense past the 60-minute mark, and with 20 minutes left, Raphinha’s powerful finish put the home team in the lead. Barcelona continued to dominate in the final stages, while Osasuna mainly tried to counterattack. Lamine’s shot once again forced a strong save from the busy Herrera, before an unmarked Raphinha tapped in at the far post to secure the victory.

This results indicates that Barcelona has achieved eight consecutive home victories, a feat they have uniquely accomplished across three different stadiums: Camp Nou, Estadi Lluís Companys, and Estadi Johan Cruyff. On the other hand, Osasuna suffered their first defeat in five games (with two wins and two draws previously) and are now tied on points with Girona in the relegation zone.
