UEFA Champions League: Zenit St. Petersburg vs Chelsea live

Preview

Chelsea resume their battle of topping their Champions League group by playing Zenit St. Petersburg in the final round of the group stage games. The game will take place at the St. Petersburg Stadium with kick-off time at 17:45 GMT.

Despite St. Petersburg’s good performances this season, they have fallen short in the Champions League and missed out on a spot in the next round of the competition. They are 3rd on the Group H table with 4 points, hence securing a spot in the Europa League. They are unbeaten in their last five games as well as they have not lost any of their last four home games.

Chelsea are top of the Champions League group H table with 12 points, however, they share the same points with Juventus. Chelsea were on a 12-game unbeaten run until they lost against West Ham in the Premier League last weekend. Chelsea have a number of key players out of this match due to injury including Kante and Jorginho.

Head-to-head

They have met just once, the first leg of the group stage games this season where Chelsea won 1-0 at home.

Prediction

Chelsea will see this as a must win game as they would like to top their group ahead of the next round. St Petersburg have already gained a spot in the Europa League and may be a little reluctant and hope for a draw. A win for Chelsea is almost a certainty.
