In the first 30 minutes at Stamford Bridge, four goals were scored as Chelsea and Bournemouth ended in a 2-2 draw. This result leaves Enzo Maresca’s team with just one Premier League win in their last seven matches, while Bournemouth’s winless streak in the league has now extended to ten games. Bournemouth had only secured three away points since August, but they took the lead just six minutes into the match when a long throw was flicked on to David Brooks. Robert Sánchez could only parry Brooks’ header back to him, allowing the Welshman to score from the rebound.

However, the Cherries’ advantage was quickly erased in the 15th minute. Estêvão went down in the box after a challenge from Antoine Semenyo, and following a VAR review, Chelsea were awarded a penalty. Former Chelsea goalkeeper Djordje Petrović guessed correctly, but Cole Palmer’s shot was perfectly placed to score. Shortly after, Sánchez made a strong save to deny Brooks a second goal as the back-and-forth action continued.

Then, Chelsea took the lead midway through the first half. Enzo Fernández combined with Alejandro Garnacho in a one-two play to get the ball into the box, before skillfully dodging Bournemouth defenders and firing it into the top corner. However, the home team’s lead was short-lived, as Andoni Iraola’s side once again caused chaos in the penalty area, leading Trevor Chalobah to accidentally assist Justin Kluivert, who easily tapped in the fourth goal during an intense first 27 minutes. Liam Delap, Álex Jiménez, and Semenyo all had additional opportunities, but no more goals were scored before halftime.

In contrast, the early minutes of the second half were quiet, with neither team managing a shot on goal until the 64th minute, when Petrović had to tip an Estêvão attempt around the post. Chelsea kept up the pressure, but when Fernández received a loose ball inside the box, he was unable to match the precision he showed earlier in the game. Ultimately, Bournemouth secured a draw and avoided conceding three goals for the seventh consecutive away match, while Chelsea have now lost 13 points from winning positions this season.
