Fabio Cannavaro doubts Paul Pogba will succeed at Juve with his current mindset
Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has come under fire from football icon Fabio Cannavaro for his attitude on the pitch.
After ending a disastrous six-year stint at Manchester United, Paul Pogba returned to Juventus this summer. Fabio Cannavaro, however, expresses fear that Pogba would find it difficult to compete with his present mindset since the midfielder worries too much about his image.
“As a football player Paul Pogba thrilled me a lot,” said the 48-year-old. “But in recent years living at Manchester United he was unrecognisable.

“Treating him in excess of his hair and image makes me suspect that he feels he has arrived.
“And when a football player thinks like this you can’t compete at the top, 100 per cent. But I am convinced that he wants revenge in his second life in Italy.”
Pogba received backlash in England for flaunting his opulent lifestyle and making headlines for his wide variety of hairstyles. Under Jose Mourinho, the Frenchman made over 150 appearances for United, scoring 29 goals as he won the League Cup and Europa League.
But as his time in Manchester came to an end, he suffered with recurring injuries, missing 22 games last season as United stumbled to a sixth-place finish in the Premier League. After suffering a knee injury in preseason, Pogba’s comeback to Turin was swiftly marred. Juventus is hopeful that the midfielder can make a speedy recovery in time to play in the World Cup later this year.
