Fulham Transfer News: Daniel James who is currently on loan at Fulham is set to be signed on a permanent deal this summer

Daniel James, who has been on loan at the Cottagers since last summer, is reportedly in for negotiations with Fulham and Leeds United about a permanent deal. James has made 26 senior appearances for the Cottagers in all competitions, scoring three goals and providing out one assist despite not being a regular in Marco Silva’s side. He has only made six starts with the group, therefore his future with the organisation is up in the air.

If Leeds United gets demoted to the Championship, James will likely leave the club in the summer transfer window. Leeds is now above the relegation zone after their 4-1 loss away at Bournemouth on Sunday, but only by virtue of goal differential. In an effort to prevent relegation in their final four games against Manchester City, Newcastle, West Ham, and Tottenham, they have named Sam Allardyce as the team’s new manager.

Despite having a contract with Leeds through June 2026, James may leave this summer. He participated in all of Wales’ Group B matches at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, and he has made a total of 43 appearances for the national team, scoring five goals.

James’ future at Fulham is still up in the air due to the contract situations of many of the team’s wingers, notably Willian, whose agreement ends next month, and Neeskens Kebano, whose contract expires at the conclusion of the current campaign. Manor Solomon, a promising loanee, is expected to return to his native club Shakhtar when his short-term contract expires, increasing Fulham’s uncertainties in the winger position.

Regarding their wingers and their approach for the upcoming summer transfer window, Fulham has a lot to think about. If James performs well in the team’s remaining games and if a reasonable deal can be reached with Leeds, the club may decide to sign him permanently. In contrast, the Cottagers could consider bringing in more wingers to give themselves more alternatives for the upcoming campaign.
