Fulham vs Manchester United Review
Emile Smith Rowe scored with his very first touch after coming on as a second-half substitute, helping Fulham secure a 1-1 draw against Manchester United in the Premier League and preventing their ninth straight home league loss in head-to-head matches. Following one of their stronger performances under Ruben Amorim in last week’s 1-0 home defeat to Arsenal, the Red Devils started brightly again on the banks of the River Thames against Fulham. Matheus Cunha launched an early long-range shot that just went over the crossbar, and a slick attacking move involving Patrick Dorgu and Mason Mount ended with the energetic Brazilian striking the ball agonizingly against the base of the post.

As the first half went on, United appeared to be the more dangerous team, but Bernd Leno remained resolute in the home goal, blocking shots from Bruno Fernandes and Cunha one after the other. Eager to capitalize on their pressure, Amorim’s squad earned a prime chance to open the scoring when Calvin Bassey fouled Mount inside the penalty area, yet Fernandes surprisingly sent the penalty shot well over the crossbar.

The beginning of the second half mirrored the first half’s tempo, and the visitors earned a well-deserved lead just before the 60-minute mark when Bryan Mbeumo’s corner was redirected by Leny Yoro onto Rodrigo Muniz’s back, who then scored past a helpless Leno. In reaction to that goal, Marco Silva brought Raúl Jiménez and Smith Rowe onto the field, with Smith Rowe quickly making a difference by connecting with Alex Iwobi’s cross and skillfully finishing past Altay Bayındır.

As the last 10 minutes approached, both teams pushed for a winning goal, with Harry Maguire narrowly missing a header from close range for the Red Devils. That was the closest either side got to securing all three points, resulting in Amorim and United having to accept a draw. This leaves their beleaguered manager with only seven wins in his first 29 league games in charge.
