Inter Miami News Latest: Lionel Messi has already demonstrated his ability to work well with his new team at Inter Miami.
The Argentine striker pleasantly surprised a teammate in the players’ group chat by offering tickets to his presentation on Sunday.
Despite the heavy rain, Messi’s welcome event last weekend in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, was a huge success, with a stadium full of enthusiastic fans eager to see the new face of Major League Soccer (MLS).
The new teammates of Messi, including forward Leonardo Campana, who is 22 years old, also wanted to attend the event. Campana asked for extra tickets in Inter’s WhatsApp group.
“On Sunday, Campana was looking for tickets and he put in the group chat if anybody has any,” Inter defender DeAndre Yedlin told the reporters.
“I didn’t even know whether Messi was in the group chat yet, but he popped up straightway and said, ‘How many do you need though?’ Straightaway like that.”
“From there I was just like ‘Woah!’ You know what I mean. Like straight off the bat, they maybe know each other for three days or something. But to show that generosity is a great fresh example of how (Messi) is.”
Approximately 20,000 fans, who had endured a delay due to intense rain and lightning, eagerly awaited the presentation of Messi’s number 10 jersey. Eventually, Messi took to the field accompanied by his family, and they posed for photographs while fireworks illuminated the sky.
