Liverpool Transfer Rumor: Alexi Mac Allister is Liverpool’s latest midfield target
According to reports, Liverpool’s pursuit of Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Alexis Mac Allister has intensified.
James Milner, is also rumoured to be close to joining the south-coast club this summer. Fabrizio Romano, a transfer expert for the Guardian, writes that Brighton is “confident” of signing the midfielder when his contract at Anfield expires.
Fabrizio Romano reports that Alexis Mac Allister is interested in moving to Liverpool even if there are still issues that need to be resolved before a final agreement on personal terms can be reached. Negotiations are expected to continue in the next two weeks. The Reds want to complete a deal as soon as possible because they are worried about rival teams pursuing Mac Allister, with the likes of Manchester United also interested in the player, although their ability to buy the Argentine is contingent on the club’s sale.
Klopp when asked about transfers always indicates that the club wants to bring in the right players, and some might consider Mac Allister the right player. The Argentine has been linked to many top clubs after his impressive world cup spell with Argentina. The Brighton midfielder continued to impress even after the world cup as he leads the seagulls to a European spot finish this season.
Liverpool is looking to rebuild after a disappointing season so far as they sit fifth in the league after 34 games.
