Manchester United vs Wolves Review
Wolves came from behind to secure a 1-1 draw against Manchester United, earning only their third Premier League point of the season. Ruben Amorim returned to his preferred formation despite their previous win against Newcastle United, and his team showed promising moments early in the match, though they didn’t look entirely convincing. José Sá made a scrambling save to deflect Luke Shaw’s corner, and Benjamin Šeško nearly scored by aiming for the bottom corner after evading Matt Doherty. Wolves likely found some encouragement in their early performance, even though Hwang Hee-chan missed a chance by shooting over the bar.

United took the lead just before the half-hour mark thanks to a bit of luck, when Joshua Zirkzee tried a flick that bounced back off Ladislav Krejčí, allowing him to send a deflected shot past Sá. After Hwang missed another chance, the home team had opportunities to extend their lead, with Patrick Dorgu’s shot being deflected narrowly wide and Šeško’s header hitting the post. Wolves continued to create chances, as Tolu Arokodare headed over and Senne Lammens made a crucial save with an outstretched foot to deny Hugo Bueno.

Wolves finally equalized in the 45th minute, with Krejčí redeeming himself by capitalizing on Zirkzee’s attempted clearance to score a brilliant header past Lammens. After the break, the Red Devils had several chances, including Matheus Cunha volleying over and Ayden Heaven’s shot being blocked. Šeško then headed straight at Sá, and Diogo Dalot’s header went off target. Shortly after, Sá made a remarkable save to deny Yerson Mosquera’s header. Sá then comfortably saved Manuel Ugarte’s speculative shot, and Doherty deflected Dorgu’s strike wide as the home side continued to push for a winning goal.

However, a crucial last-minute intervention from Dalot was needed to stop Jhon Arias at the other end and maintain the tie. The home team believed they had secured the win when Dorgu scored following Šeško’s initial shot being saved, but the goal was ruled out for offside. Wolves ended their 12-game losing streak in all competitions, giving themselves a morale boost. The draw does little for Manchester United, who have not won back-to-back games since late October, and will view this as a significant missed chance to climb the Premier League standings.
