Arthur Melo could be on the move from Juventus
It is said that Valencia, under the direction of new manager Gennaro Gattuso, have made a firm offer for Arthur Melo, though it will probably take some haggling before anything is finalized.
TuttoMercatoWeb (via Football Italia) reports that the offer has taken the shape of a loan. The hitch is that Juventus would have to split Arthur Melo’s €5 million salary in half with the Spanish team.
- Sebastien Haller could be out of action till at least October after undergoing a surgery
- Paul Pogba could be out for the rest of 2022 due to a knee injury
Even if TuttoMercatoWeb isn’t exactly the best source ever created, the claims made in the previous 48 hours by Fabrizio Romano and Nicolo Schira concerning Valencia’s interest give them much more support. Both publications also note that Valencia needs help paying Arthur’s salary, which is bad news for any potential options or commitments to purchase that would be slapped onto the agreement.
Juventus would undoubtedly prefer that such a requirement exist since it would allow them to permanently cut ties with the player. Although specific proposals in either situation have not yet surfaced, the TuttoMercatoWeb story suggests that Valencia are aware of the prospective competition from Arsenal and a potential return to Barcelona. If one of them makes an offer to acquire him outright, Juventus will likely accept that offer.
