West Han United have condemned fan behaviour of an incident that happened during the Conference League final

The conduct of certain West Ham United supporters has been criticized by the club following an incident during the Europa Conference League final where Fiorentina’s captain, Cristiano Biraghi (30), was struck by a projectile thrown from the stands, resulting in bleeding.

During the match in Prague, Biraghi was hit on the head by plastic cups and other items thrown by fans while he was getting ready to take a corner. He had to seek medical attention as a result.

“West Ham United unreservedly condemn the behaviour of a small number of individuals who threw objects onto the pitch during tonight’s UEFA Europa Conference League final,” the club said in a statement.

“These actions have no place in football and do not in any way represent the values of our football club and the overwhelming majority of our supporters, who have behaved impeccably in Prague this week and throughout our last two seasons in European competition.”

“In line with our zero-tolerance approach, anyone identified will have their details passed to the police and will be given an indefinite ban and therefore be unable to enter London Stadium and travel with the club.”

Earlier, the Czech police reported that they had arrested 16 supporters of Fiorentina for assaulting both West Ham fans and a police officer at a nearby bar.

West Ham won their first significant European championship in 58 years when Jarrod Bowen scored the winning goal in the 90th minute.
