After Kylian Mbappe replicated his achievement of scoring a hat-trick in a World Cup final, Sir Geoff Hurst congratulated him.
France overcame a 2-0 deficit with an incredible comeback sparked by Mbappe to force extra time against Argentina. Mbappe scored again to force penalties even after Lionel Messi looked to have won it for Argentina in extra time.

Interestingly, the Paris Saint-Germain player lost the match, despite scoring his penalty in the shootout, but he still won the golden boot and a piece of World Cup history.
Hurst held the record for England versus West Germany in the 1966 World Cup final alone for 56 years, thus Kylian Mbappe’s entry into the record books made Hurst happy.
Hurst made the following statement on Twitter before to the penalty shootout: “Many congratulations to Mbappe, whatever happens. I’ve had a great run!”

Even if Kylian Mbappe’s team lost, he still has a chance to go down as one of the greatest World Cup players ever. Despite participating in only two tournaments, he has already scored 12 World Cup goals.
Considering that Lionel Messi has participated in five World Cups, that is just one less than the average player.
