If you’re looking for a glossy, ten-step manual printed on heavy cardstock that tells you how to “synergize community engagement,” you’ve come to the wrong place. Most of the rubbish you’ll find online claiming to be a complete guide to volunteering at a club is written by people who think “management” happens in a boardroom
I’ve spent thirty-five years watching club secretaries pour money into fancy automated irrigation systems and overpriced chemical treatments, only to watch the halfway line turn into a boggy graveyard by the second week of November. Most of the literature out there claiming to be a complete guide to pitch maintenance is written by people who
If you think a “complete guide to following a club” involves buying a season ticket you can’t afford or refreshing a transfer deadline news feed every thirty seconds like a man possessed, you’ve been sold a load of rubbish. Most people treat being a supporter like a full-time job in crisis management, chasing every bit
If you’re looking for a “complete guide to non league football” that involves fancy data analytics, high-tech GPS vests, or some expensive tactical spreadsheet, you can close this tab right now. I’ve spent thirty-five years standing on touchlines where the only “data” we had was the sound of a heavy tackle and the sight of
I’ve spent enough time standing on the touchline of rain-soaked pitches to know that most of what you read online about small-sided games is absolute nonsense. You’ll see these glossy websites offering a “complete guide to five a side” that reads like it was written by someone who has only ever played FIFA on a
I’ve spent half my life watching coaches buy expensive, glossy manuals and fancy tactical boards, only to watch their players trip over their own feet the moment the game gets tight. Most people will try to sell you a “complete guide to futsal” that looks like a NASA flight manual, filled with complex diagrams and
I’ve seen enough “experts” on the internet trying to sell you a high-tech, data-driven complete guide to walking football that involves GPS trackers and complex physiological metrics. Give me a break. If you’re playing walking football, you aren’t training for the Champions League; you’re trying to keep your joints moving and your competitive spark alive
I’ve spent enough time on muddy touchlines to know that when someone offers you a “complete guide to women’s football” filled with glossy infographics and high-level tactical jargon, they’re usually selling you something they’ve never actually had to implement. Most of these guides are written by people sitting in air-conditioned offices, theorizing about “spatial dominance”
I’ve sat through enough seminars in drafty community halls to know that most people trying to sell you a “complete guide to captaincy and leadership” are usually peddling nothing more than expensive, polished nonsense. They’ll talk to you about synergy, visionary paradigms, and “empowering stakeholders,” as if you’re running a FTSE 100 company instead of
I’ve sat through enough seminars in drafty community halls to know that most people trying to sell you a “complete guide to player psychology” are actually just selling you expensive, hollow jargon. They’ll talk to you about “cognitive load” and “neurological pathways” while you’re standing on a waterlogged pitch at 8:00 AM, watching your center-back
